Our Teams
Fighting Unicorn All-Star Travel Team
The Fighting Unicorns represent North Texas Roller Derby in high-level competition across the region. This team consists of our most skilled and dedicated skaters, competing against other leagues in the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) and beyond. Skaters on this team train rigorously, sharpening their strategy, endurance, and teamwork to take on top-tier opponents.
Home Teams
NTXRD’s Home Teams bring together skaters of all skill levels for fun, hard-hitting matchups within the league. These teams foster a competitive but community-driven atmosphere, giving skaters a chance to develop and compete in front of our home crowd.
Elm St. Nightmares
You cannot escape these deadly beauties! The Elm St Nightmares are out for blood! Their lust for vengeance will never be satisfied
Hickory St. Hooligans
The Hickory St Hooligans are a motley group of skaters who are as unruly and destructive as you can imagine. They are the kids who stole your lunch money, gave you your first black eye, and never apologized for anything in life. Watch what you say, because their attitude has only gotten worse!
Main St. Mafia
The Main St Mafia are a bunch of hard-earned criminals who don’t take no mess from nobody. They are quiet, meticulous, and they don’t trust any outsiders. Be sure to watch your back at all times and remember: mess with their family and you’ll be saying hello to their “little friend.
More Than Just Teams – A Place for Every Skater

- Training Programs – Learn the fundamentals and sharpen your skills, whether you’re brand new or a returning skater.
- Mashups & Special Events – Fun-themed games where skaters mix up teams for a unique, exciting experience.
- Non-Skating Roles – Officiate, coach, or volunteer to be part of the action even if you’re not on skates!
